Actor/Parent Responsibility Statement

In order to participate in the Fine Arts Drama Department, students must exhibit that they are respectful, can follow directions, are a team player, can accept constructive criticism, and are kind to others. This program is about building people up, challenging yourself with new experiences, and having a great time. Negativity, jealously, and gossip take away from the entire production and bring everyone down. Let’s keep the “drama” on the stage!

Before signing this statement, be sure you have read the Drama Department Student/Parent packet information, including rehearsal dates and times and performance dates and times. Actors should declare all known conflicts at the time of audition.

 I realize that participating in Drama requires commitment to the entire drama production.

 I will attend all rehearsals. If unable to attend, I will contact the Drama Director.

 I will memorize my lines by the deadline set by the Drama Director.

 I will follow all acting instructions given by the Drama Director.

 I will show respect to the Drama Director and students during rehearsals by keeping the noise level to a minimum. I understand that I can be dismissed from the rehearsal if I fail to do so, and my parent will be required to meet with the Drama Director to be reinstated.

As the parent, I realize that my child’s participation in Drama requires commitment not only for my child, but myself as well. Encouragement and assistance for memorization of the assigned script will be given to my child, and priority will be given to all Drama rehearsals, performances, and activities. I will ensure my child’s transportation to all Drama rehearsals, performances, and activities as well as being punctual. I will also commit to serve in the required parent volunteer duty or pay the $100 participation fee.
