HOW WE CAME TO BE:
Over 15 Years ago (1990) a small group met together for a parent support group. This group provided field trips, some sports, a newsletter, a yearbook, a graduation, and the still popular performance night. This first organized group in Lebanon was the HOPE group.
As the need for a co-op arose in 1999, Shared Learning came to birth. The first classes met with a bout 35 members in attendance. Shared Learning bloomed and from it Fine Arts began.
With the growing number of homeschoolers, the request for organized sports was on the horizon and our Athletic Department stepped up to do a fine job of fulfilling that need.
In 2002, with so many opportunities for homeschoolers being offered in Lebanon a need to unify brought about the Lebanon Area Homeschool board. Better known as LAH. Some reorganization of the member groups took place. The Journalism Department, Clubs, and Field Trips / Activities were divided into their own departments to allow the other departments to focus on their specialty and these three to encompass the entire group.
Seven departments make up LAH. They include: HOPE, Shared Learning, Fine Arts, AThletics, Journalism, Clubs, and Field Trips - Activities. Each department selects a representative and those seven representatives make up the LAH board.
